KMD’s Mission &Vision ?
Our mission & vision is the transfer of ICT knowledge, possibly up to an Education Level On the other side equipment needed in ICT will be supplied.
KMD is found to be hosting a shopping website. How would online shopping go on your part?
The country’s online shopping has a little shortfall yet. Likewise in financial infrastructure and logistics. Maybe it is normal. It should be convenient for a customer some distance off from downtown to place an order with us, who will make product delivery. But testing the equipment would be optional. Many Myanmar consumers would like to physically touch and test the equipment before deciding to buy it. Online Shopping has advantages and disadvantages, but it will go mainstream in the future. Retail will be maintained, and possibly there can appear a balance between the two.
What about ‘be Product Line’ in cooperation with Intel, Microsoft?
In be Product Line we have fashioned three sets of product: be tablet, be ultra-book , and be keyboard computer. The tablet is close to completion. We are co-opting the technologies of Microsoft and Intel because their own label makes for convenience in doing things .We tried to make a deal with Microsoft, like, how much domestic prices. Their Engineers are in place at the factories they recommend, and we let them know about the product we fancy. If a consumer bought the Product, the price would have been reasonable because it was what we had considered. We always thought a product fashioned in cooperation with them is recommendable. It is a product of pride to KMD.
Microsoft and KMD must have made their own choices. A little elaboration please.
We could not be specific about why. Our naming, and who we are partnered with, must have come under their consideration. One possible factor is we are servicing their products. We are distributor of Intel products.
As to Microsoft, we are running Microsoft courses, and have obtained an official licence also. As authorised reseller we are in constant contact with them. Naming and trust are decisive factors , I think.
Your version of partnership with Microsoft, Intel …
We raise capital, to make what product through their tech in cooperation. We give support to their participation in some marketing. Their presence is felt in some events. They give support through marketing fund sometimes, accompanied by a prescribed order.
KMD as authorized dealer is reselling a lot of PCs and tablets. What is the supply trend in Myanmar?
PC demand has gone flat since about three years ago in Myanmar. Tablet market has fallen a little, maybe like elsewhere in the world. Notebook supply has gone normal. Desktop is being replaced by notebook to a large extent. Yet in some enterprise industries the desktop reigns supreme.
